The ACR39U smart card reader is the complete solution for using the new Electronic Identity Card (CEI) and the health card (CNAS). This reader can read the new identity cards (chip-based ID cards) as well as health cards!

The health and identity card reader, ACR39, is a reader without keypad or display, authorized by CNAS, which allows reading and writing data on health and identity cards. The reader/writer connects to the computer’s USB port, and the card is then inserted. To access data on the card, the PIN code must be entered using the computer’s keyboard. This model is one of the most widely used health card readers on the Romanian market.

NOTE: Currently, individuals do not have access to the electronic health record. For this reason, the health card reader is not useful for reading data from the health card, but data can be read from the new electronic ID card. For this purpose (i.e., reading data from a standard health card), you need a security matrix. Please contact your doctor to obtain the security matrix to access the Electronic Health Record.

This plug-and-play card reader/writer is an aesthetic and easy-to-use device based on a USB 2.0 / 3.0 full-speed interface. The reader/writer complies with CCID (Chip Card Interface Device) specifications and supports cards compatible with ISO 7816 Class A, B, and C. It is compatible with memory chip cards and processor cards (CPU Smartcard).

The ACR39 card reader/writer is CNAS authorized. It has been tested and validated by the National Health Insurance House (CNAS) as compatible with the national health card information system.
